New North Carolina facility will bring production closer to utilities, improve supply reliability and create 160 jobs
EDEN, N.C., March 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — TSEA Energy has announced a groundbreaking initiative: a $25 million investment in a new voltage regulator manufacturing facility in Eden, North Carolina. This marks TSEA’s first industrial venture in the United States, demonstrating a significant step in responding to the increasing demands on the U.S. electrical grid.
The facility, expected to commence manufacturing operations in the fourth quarter of 2026, will create approximately 160 jobs in Rockingham County. This project not only lays the foundation for local employment but also positions TSEA strategically to support domestic energy infrastructure projects effectively.
By producing single-phase step voltage regulators, TSEA is bringing operations closer to key customers, which is essential for enhancing product availability and fortifying the domestic supply chain critical to energy infrastructure. North Carolina Governor Josh Stein also recognized the project’s implications for local economic development, stating, “Our highly skilled workforce, business-friendly environment, and convenient East Coast location will help them modernize the electrical grid as utilities meet the growing energy demand.”
Supporting Grid Modernization and Reliability
Voltage regulators play a vital role in managing voltage levels within electricity distribution networks. The new Eden facility will expand the domestic supply of voltage regulators precisely when utilities are updating aging infrastructure and striving to enhance power quality and service reliability in the face of rising electricity needs. The Eden facility is set to manufacture advanced voltage regulators rated up to 1100A nominal current and 36.2 kV nominal voltage. TSEA brings decades of experience in power distribution equipment design and manufacturing to this project, currently serving over 40 U.S. utilities. The addition of this facility will at least double its global manufacturing capacity, further solidifying TSEA’s role in the international supply chain for power equipment.
