Saatvik Green Energy Limited, a notable player in India’s solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing sector, has taken a significant step by releasing its inaugural Sustainability Report for FY 2024–25. This report not only showcases the company’s achievements in the realm of clean energy but also elaborates on its dedication to responsible business practices amidst the growing emphasis on sustainability worldwide.
Titled “Powering Progress: Growing Together for a Greener Future”, the report highlights the impressive strides the company has made, such as consuming 2,698 gigajoules (GJ) of energy sourced from renewable means and successfully avoiding 544.75 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent emissions. These figures illustrate Saatvik’s commitment to adopting low-carbon and energy-efficient manufacturing processes, which are essential in the fight against climate change.
The extensive report adheres to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards 2021, while also aligning with other significant frameworks such as SEBI’s Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR) and the National Guidelines on Responsible Business Conduct (NGRBC). By doing so, it underlines the company’s commitment to transparency and responsible governance. It covers the financial year 2024–25 and includes both Saatvik Green Energy Limited and its subsidiary, Saatvik Solar Industries Private Limited, through an operational control approach.
In addition to environmental efforts, Saatvik has also placed a strong emphasis on its social and governance responsibilities. The company has made substantial investments, amounting to ₹85.75 lakh, in CSR initiatives. These initiatives focus on healthcare, education, and rural development in the communities surrounding its areas of operation. This commitment to the community reflects a deep-rooted people-first approach, as evidenced by the company’s achievement of zero lost-time injuries (LTI) during FY25 and the completion of 11,282 employee training hours aimed at enhancing workforce capabilities.
Moreover, all of Saatvik’s manufacturing facilities operate under recognized international management systems. The certifications they have received, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, testify to their commitment to quality, environmental management, and occupational health and safety. Additionally, the company has garnered accolades, such as being recognized as a Great Place to Work®, based on feedback from its employees, signifying a strong workplace culture.
Mr. Prashant Mathur, the CEO of Saatvik Green Energy Limited, expressed his thoughts on the report’s release: “Our inaugural Sustainability Report reflects our commitment to building a cleaner, greener, and more resilient future through responsible manufacturing and strong governance. As India sets ambitious targets—aiming for 500 GW of non-fossil capacity by 2030 and achieving net-zero by 2070—we are dedicated to minimizing our environmental footprint, enhancing safety and well-being across our workforce, and creating meaningful social impact in our operational communities.”
Looking to the future, Saatvik Green Energy Limited is set on enhancing its integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles across its operations. The company plans to strengthen engagement within its value chain while expanding the scope of its sustainability disclosures to encompass value chain partners and the impacts of product end-of-life management. This forward-thinking approach stands to bolster both the company’s sustainability initiatives and its overall resilience in an ever-evolving energy landscape.
